There are also plans for more interactivity on its platform
UFC is to add extra content to its Snapchat channel after signing a new deal with the social media giant.
The organisation has put pen to paper on a ‘multi-year’ extension to their current partnership. This will see the promoter continue to create highlights and previews for its Snapchat channel, with the new addition of content from its Fight Pass service.
As well as extra content, UFC has pledged to introduce interactive viewing tools for its followers. There will also be an AR feature that allows fans to take selfies as if they are at UFC events.
The pair originally partnered in June 2016, and had alread signed an extension to that deal in December last year. Formerly being restricted to the ‘Live Stories’ function, that deal had seen UFC add content to the ‘Discover’ page. They are now looking to build on that with this latest agreement.
UFC senior vice president for international and content, David Shaw, said: “In less than a year, we have reached over 45 million unique viewers, with 88 per cent of that group being under the age of 35.
“This collaboration is a great way to grow our fanbase by delivering fresh, compelling content in a unique way.”
