The week of content will be published on the BBC Sport website and social media channels.

BBC Sport is to offer a week’s worth of content dedicated to International Women’s Day. The content kicks off on 8 March (International Women’s Day) with Serena Williams in a video filmed by BBC Sport reciting a reimagined version of Rudyard Kipling’s famous poem, ‘If’.

The content continues with the publication of the results of BBC Sport’s Global Prize money study, which explores the difference in prize money in men and women’s sport.

BBC Sport said: “From cliff diving to cricket, football to rugby and golf to road cycling, more sport than ever before will be examined.”

During the week, BBC Sport will also release interviews with Olympian Elinor Barker and New Zealand Track Cyclist Kirstie James talking about how Endometriosis has affected their sporting careers and lives, as well as their journey to getting a diagnosis.

Teenager Ellie Challis, who lost all her limbs to Meningitis at just 18 months old, will also give an inspiring interview talking about breaking British records, her ambitions for the future and her determination to succeed as a young sportswomen.

The series of interviews continues with Muay Thai World champion and professional boxer, Ruqsana Begum opening up to BBC Sport about leaving an arranged marriage.

Additionally, Team GB’s first female Chef de Mission and Olympic Bronze Medallist Georgie Harland will write an opinion piece about visibility of women in top sport jobs as she prepares the team for the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.

Also, West Ham women’s sports psychologist and UK Sport’s coach developer Jenna Coady will look at her career to date, as well as how she has helped sportswomen through a difficult year of Covid restrictions and coached those who have experienced trolling.

The week finishes with a roundtable debate with some of Britain’s top black athletes (Olympian Donna Fraser, Paralympian Kadeena Cox and Team GB sprinter Imani-Lara Lansiquot) looking into how race and gender representation in sport has changed since the start of the Millennium.

The content will be on the BBC Sport website and social media channels from Monday 8 March – Sunday 14 March.
