Registration for the tournament opens next week, with the qualifiers kicking off in January 2021.
Esports company Gfinity has been appointed as the tournament operator for the third season of the ePremier League (ePL).
Gfinity has operated both previous tournaments, which gives UK-based players the opportunity to win the ePL title for their favourite club in an online EA Sports FIFA 21 competition.
Gfinity will run the online qualification for the tournament and also develop and run online club playoffs leading up to the finals in Spring 2021.
The format of the tournament is players compete for three months across three rounds – online qualification, live club playoffs and the live ePL final. The registration for the competition opens on Thursday next week (3 December) and the online qualification begins in January 2021.
Gfinity chief executive John Clarke, said: “We are excited to be working again with the Premier League to create the third series of the ePL which continues to be one of the most successful tournaments in the sector and we are proud to be part of a tournament that we know gamers and sports fans love.”
