The governing body will be attempting to keep the public entertained while stuck at home

The FA has launched #FootballsStayingHome, its plan to keep fans entertained while stuck at home.

With football matches postponed for the foreseeable future due to the coronavirus pandemic, the governing body has announced a weekly content programme including archive footage, skills videos with current players, coaching instructions, and more.

Men’s and women’s team captains, Harry Kane, and Steph Houghton, announced the news on Monday.

It had already announced its replacements for England v Italy and England v Denmark – which had been scheduled for last Friday and Tuesday this week. Classic games involving the sides were prepared to be broadcast on the organisation’s social channels.

As part of its plan going forward, the FA will be broadcasting Emirates FA Cup and Barclays FA Women’s Super League across social media and The FA Player on Sundays.

In addition to the content, fans will be able to get involved by using #FootballsStayingHome – the best posts will be featured in an online hub on the FA’s site.
