The FIA World Touring Car Cup has begun the competition while the start date for its normal series is delayed
The FIA World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) is beginning a new esports racing series today, involving current drivers.
The organisation has had to delay the start of its season due to the coronavirus, and this will give fans a chance to see their favourite drivers in action before the campaign goes ahead.
Simracers will also be able to actually race against them, with the fastest qualifiers from a ‘time attack’ section of the race qualifying for the top server. Registration is free and you can have find more information on entering here.
The event will run over four races, starting on 25 March and ending on 18 May. TrackTime, TAG Heuer and KW Suspensions are partners with the competition, and the winner will receive a TAG Heuer watch.

One of the drivers taking part is Norbert Michelisz, who was originally spotted as a potential racer due to his impressive performances in online racing. He has since gone on to win the WTCR in 2019.
The races will be available to watch on WTCR’s official Facebook page and YouTube channel with regular commentators James Kirk and Robert Wisenmüller providing coverage.
