The first grand prix will take place next weekend
Sky Creative Agency has released its campaign for the new Formula One season.
As part of the TV, radio, print, social and digital campaign, the company has delivered a promotional video starring drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc for Sky Sports.
Filmed across four continents in Sao Paulo, Abu Dhabi, and Austin, Texas, as well as a studio shoot in London, the advert was written and directed by creatives Will McMullan and Nick Esdaile. VFX work was completed by The Mill, and it features cameras closer to the drivers than ever before in an F1 advert.
The 2020 Formula One world championship starts on 15 March, in Melbourne, Australia. Currently the opening race is unaffected by the coronavirus outbreak, but the next one in Bahrain will go ahead without spectators and the Chinese Grand Prix has been postponed. The new season will be shown in its entirety on Sky Sports F1.
Sky Creative Agency’s executive creative director, Robin Garton, said of the ad: “The start of a new season is a moment of excitement and anticipation and the team did an incredible job of combining live action and post.”
Simon Buglione, Managing Director, Brand & Creative for Sky commented: “Sky Creative Agency is now responsible for all of Sky’s advertising output and this highlights why that’s the case.”
