Infront will distribute media rights for CEV’s competitions

Infront and the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) have agreed a 12-year media rights distribution deal.

The agreement was approved by a CEV extraordinary general meeting in Vienna, Austria on Saturday 29 February. It runs from 2020 to 2032 and means that CEV events across all three disciplines (volleyball, beach volleyball, and snow volleyball) will be represented and have rights distributed by Infront.

This continues more than two decades of the organisations’ association with each other.

National team competitions such as Olympic qualification, EuroVolley, and European Volleyball Leagues, as well as club leagues and tournaments, are included. In addition, the European Championships in beach and snow volleyball are covered – plus CEV continental events in both disciplines from 1 July 2020.

Over the 12-year period, the deal foresees guaranteed payments, as well as the providing of comprehensive media, production and digital services by Infront to the value of €100 million (£87m).

Infront CEO and president Philippe Blatter said: “This partnership will allow Infront and CEV to further develop volleyball, beach volleyball and snow volleyball together through innovation, increased audiences and improved production while enjoying access to financial security on a long-term basis.”

CEV president, Aleksandar Boričić, added: “I am happy that the members of our Volleyball family understood the importance and benefits of this agreement, which clearly is in the best interest of all parties – and lays the foundation for a bright future for our sport.”
