Visually striking creative work was helmed by renowned sports director Daryl Goodrich
HBA Media has revealed the title sequence and graphics for its coverage of the inaugural Saudi Cup, which takes place on 29 February in Riyadh.
The 30-second creative for what’s being described as “the world’s richest race” was directed by award-winning sports film director Daryl Goodrich.
The film begins in a swirling windstorm out of which emerge racehorses that head out across the Riyadh skyline.
The theme of sand and wind is then used across all the Saudi Cup on-screen moving graphics.
As well as the main title sequence and graphics, Goodrich created a second set of both for a weekly 30-minute horseracing magazine show on Saudi TV that launched earlier this year, ahead of the Saudi Cup.
Henry Birtles, CEO of HBA Media, said: “Daryl’s track record speaks volumes. His originality, flair and knowledge of horseracing has been successfully encapsulated in the stylistic, moviemaking title sequences created for the prestigious Saudi Cup and support programming.”
Goodrich added: “To have the opportunity to design and produce an opening sequence for such an amazing event was a pleasure and a privilege. The horses are majestic and the location inspiring – hopefully the designs do justice to the racing.”
The Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia appointed HBA Media its broadcast and distribution partner last year. The company works with global production companies on programming surrounding the Saudi Cup.
