The broadcaster has found some live sport to fill the schedule this weekend
Sky Sports has found some live sport to broadcast this weekend, in the form of international horse racing.
Events in the US, Hong Kong, and Australia are still going ahead despite the coronavirus crisis that has seen the majority of sport postponed for safety reasons.
Sky Sports Racing viewers will be able to watch the $750,000 (£612,000) Florida Derby at 11.36pm on Saturday, with coverage of action from Gulfstream Park live from 5pm. The US racing is also available for free at attheraces.com.
On Wednesdays and Sundays there will be exclusive live coverage of Hong Kong meetings, and at 4.50am on Saturday there is coverage of the $1.5m Group 1 Tancred Stakes from Australia.
In addition, attheraces.com has launched a new site dedicated to greyhound racing. ATR supplies live streaming services to UK betting operators for Australian, New Zealand and US greyhound racing – which are currently going ahead.
It is unknown if these events will still be going ahead for the foreseeable future, with the covid-19 pandemic currently showing few signs of ending soon. Even without crowds, there is a danger to the people involved at races if they go ahead.
