The first Broadcast Sport Breakfast Club, held on 27 January on the virtual conferencing platform Hopin, focused on the new OTT/D2C sports platforms, with discussions with Eurosport about its role in the launch of Discovery+ and Eleven Sports about the forthcoming roll out of its new global sports OTT platform.
The Broadcast Sport Breakfast Club is a new event from Broadcast Sport, providing regular thought leadership sessions for the sport production and broadcast sector.

The first session is a fireside chat with Eurosport president Andrew Georgiou and Eurosport global production and content head Scott Young, talking to Broadcast Sport editor Jake Bickerton. Georgiou discusses the relationship between Eurosport and Discovery+ and what the launch of Discovery+ means for Eurosport’s content, and in particular its extensive coverage of major sport events and Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. He outlines how Eurosport’s sports offer and content will evolve to take advantage of the extended reach and broad user base of Discovery+. Meanwhile, Young will explain Eurosport’s innovative approach to content for the year ahead and the ongoing pivot to increasingly producing sports content remotely, underpinned by its leading Eurosport Technology Transformation project.

Eleven Sports and MyCujoo join Broadcast Sport editor Jake Bickerton to talk about the forthcoming launch of Eleven Sports’ global OTT platform. The service has come about through Eleven Sports’ acquisition of MyCujoo late last year, and promises a range of sports content, broken into the strands, Eleven Next, Eleven Sports and Eleven Women. The strategy behind the launch, the content offered by the platform, and the technology used to enable the launch are all discussed during this session.
