The deals will broaden the range of different sporting events available through the platform.
Adventure and lifestyle sport TV channel EDGEsport, which is owned and operated by IMG, has secured deals in new genres of sports with Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) and GAME Sports Management.
The deal with ASO, the organiser of the Tour de France, includes highlights from a number of cycling events including the Tour de Hongrie, the Arctic Race of Norway; and the Deutschland Tour. It also includes motorsport races – the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge; Dubai International Baja; Spa Classic; Le Mans Classic; and a number of motorsport documentaries.
As part of the deal with GAME, EDGEsport picks up live and recorded action from the FIM X-Trial World Championships (main picture) and the Vendée Globe (pictured above) – the single-handed non-stop around-the-world yacht race, which began in France earlier this month.
Other live motor events distributed by EDGEsport include Night of the Jumps; Super Enduro and Enduro GP; Ice Speedway Gladiators; Enduropale du Torquet; TrialGP; Supermoto; Sidecarcross; ISDE and EnduroCross US.
The service is available globally with new deals including OneX in Africa, Plex TV in the USA, Canada and Mexico, Mono in Thailand and STV in Scotland. The channel is also live on Xumo Xfinity 1 devices in the USA.
John Grabowski, commercial director for EDGEsport at IMG, said: “We are really pleased to continue our partnership with GAME, and start a new partnership with ASO. Both deals highlight the channel’s expansion into new genres such as cycling and sailing while continuing to bring exciting motorsport content to fans worldwide.”
