Each match will cost £14.95 via Sky Sports Box Office.

All ‘non-televised’ Premier League games in October are to be shown via pay-per-view rather than being distributed to multiple broadcasters, as happened last season.

Each match will cost £14.95 via Sky Sports Box Office, channel 491 on the Sky box. They will also be available on NOW TV devices, via the Sky Sports app.

Most of the pay per view revenue will go direct to the clubs to compensate for the lack of matchday revenue with games being played behind closed doors.

The games being made available through pay per view during October are Newcastle United v Manchester United; Leicester City v Aston Villa; and West Bromwich Albion v Burnley.

After October, the new broadcasting arrangement will be reviewed by the Premier League with a view to whether it will continue in future months.

Premier League – Round Five (17, 18, 19 October) Sky Sports Box Office (£14.95 per match)
  • Newcastle vs. Man Utd – Sat 20.00
  • Leicester vs. Aston Villa – Sun 19.15
  • West Brom vs. Burnley – Mon 17.30

Sky Sports managing director Rob Webster said: “Through this exceptionally challenging year we have done everything we can to be the best partner for sport. The Premier League has come to this decision with its clubs to provide a service for supporters who are no longer to able attend and to generate matchday revenue. We are happy to support them with this interim solution – and we share their desire to get fans back into grounds as soon as it is safe to do so.

“Sky subscribers still get more than 140 of the very best matches, while supporters of individual clubs won’t have to miss out on any games during this period.”
