The rights will open for bidders this week.

The international broadcast rights for 380 live Lega Basket Serie A basketball games per season go live on sports media rights trading platform Content Arena this week.

Information about the rights offering will be available on www.contentarena.com, where broadcasters will also be able to bid directly for content from rights holder, SN1 Trading.

Lega Basket Serie A is the top division of basketball in Italy. The 2020-21 season began on September 27th.

The 16-team line-up includes Virtus Bologna and Armani Milano, which is tipped to be one of the top teams in Europe. Players in the league include Miloš Teodosić (Serbia, Virtus Bologna), Sergio Rodriguez (Spain, Armani), Kyle Hines (USA, Armani), and Luis Scola (Argentina, Varese).

Erik Lorenz, Content Arena co-founder and CEO, said: “We’re very happy that SN1 will use Content Arena as the exclusive sales channel for the Lega Basket rights. It is the first time that global media rights of a sports property will be sold exclusively through a digital marketplace.”

Sascha Kojic, founder of SN1 Trading, added: “We’re excited to start this collaboration – SN1’s expertise combined with Content Arena’s global network of buyers will elevate Lega Basket’s media distribution to new heights, and help to reach more basketball fans than ever before. We also look forward to using Content Arena Rights Manager to digitise and automate our commercial and legal processes, allowing us to bring our internal process efficiency to a new level.”
