There will also be free-to-air coverage on Channel 5 of certain games

BT Sport has agreed with Premiership Rubgy to show every match that is behind closed doors when the season restarts.

In addition, Channel 5 will give free-to-air coverage of four of the remaining 57 ties, along with a highlights programme from 17 August.

The 2019-20 Gallagher Premiership Rugby campaign was paused due to the Covid-19 crisis, but will be resuming from 14 August with all six matches of round 14 on TV. Once crowds are allowed back into stadia, BT will return to showing a selection of matches each week. Recent trials of crowds at sport have been postponed after rising coronavirus cases.

BT Sport subscribers will have access to all games while grounds continue to be off limits, and the broadcaster is also working on allowing season ticket holders free access to matches through the BT Sport app. The BT Sport Match Pass should allow this, and it will be down to each individual club as to who is eligible to use it.

Live coverage will come from the grounds, with the likes of Craig Doyle, Sarra Elgan, Martin Bayfield, Ugo Monye, Ben Kay, Lawrence Dallaglio, Austin Healey, Nick Mullins and Ali Eykyn providing commentary and analysis. Certain matches will also have crowd noise added, with the line-up for this to be confirmed. Some games will also be available in 4K HDR via BT Ultimate.

Further coverage will be available through Rugby Tonight on Tour and Gallagher Premiership Rugby Tonight, as well as content on btsport.com.

Dates and times of some matches for the news season are still being confirmed, but it is decided that the first game will see Harlequins hosting Sale Sharks at 7.45pm on Friday 14 August. Games will go through until 24 October, when the final will be played at Twickenham.
