US publisher to provide football fans with exclusive video content from more than 100 football clubs.

Football content platform Dugout has inked a deal with Maven, the publisher of Sports Illustrated, to provide archive and behind-the-scenes video content to US-based football fans.

The content comes from 100+ football clubs, national football federations and leagues, and will bolster Sports Illustrated’s football coverage, which previously centred on text-based content.

The deal is Dugout’s first into the US market. The company, which is co-owned by an assortment of football clubs including Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City, distributes 2,500+ ‘brand-safe’ videos a month.

Its content received more than 1.84 billion views in 2019 across Dugout.com and its network of more than 85 publishers globally.

Elliot Richardson, co-founder and chairman of Dugout, said: “For more than 65 years, Sports Illustrated has delivered best-in-class sports journalism and we are thrilled to partner with such an iconic US publication. Our new collaboration means we will work closely to deliver our premium soccer content to their huge online audience.”

Ross Levinsohn, CEO of Sports Illustrated Media, added: “We are thrilled to join forces with Dugout to offer soccer fans across North America compelling and robust video experiences from the biggest clubs and players in the world.”

The partnership with Sports Illustrated follows Dugout’s new content agreements with Suning’s PP Sports in China and Onefootball across Europe.
