Doc follows the fortunes of young Indonesian players trying to forge professional career
Football platform Copa90 has acquired documentary series The Search for Indonesia’s First Wonderkid.
Created by UK, Milan and LA based Sent Entertainment, the series follows the fortunes of Garuda Select, a team comprised of 24 Indonesian youngsters, who tour England and Italy to compete with some of the top academy sides in Europe.
This series was originally created for Mola.tv, Indonesia’s biggest streaming service and the Premier League rights holder in Indonesia together with the Indonesian FA (PSSI).
The series follows a group of Indonesian hopefuls as they look to forge a career in professional football, taking on the academies of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Juventus and Inter Milan.
Football is hugely popular in Asia, but very few genuine superstars of the sport hail from the continent.
Copa says this ten-part series is an attempt to redress this by unearthing new talent, guided by two former England internationals, Dennis Wise (ex-Chelsea) and Des Walker (ex-Nottingham Forest).
