He moves from Sky Sports where he was head of directors and creative.
Former Sky Sports head of directors and creative Duncan East is joining Buzz 16 productions as managing director.
East previously worked at Input Media, API TV and ITV Sport before joining Sky Sports in 2002 as assistant producer. In 2008 he became a director for Sky Sports, before becoming head of directors in 2016, and then director of creative output in 2020.
Buzz 16 is a sports indie producing docs, features, promos and live sport, as well as branded and digital content. It was setup in 2017 by Gary Neville and former Sky Sports producer Scott Melvin. Its productions include The LAWMAN, Class of 92 – Full Time, Gary Neville’s Soccerbox, live British Basketball coverage and Tackling Racism with Micah Richards.
East said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Buzz 16 and cannot wait to get stuck in. My time at Sky was a wonderful experience, working with great people. I am now ready for a new challenge and a change of direction and I’m so excited to be working alongside the talented team at Buzz 16 to help grow and push the company on to new levels together.”
Melvin said: “This is a great appointment for us. We know Duncan well and what he can bring to the team. Duncan and I have worked together for the best part of 20 years and I’m really excited about our plans for the future.”
