Aurora Media Worldwide will produce the #RacingForTheClimate broadcast show
Aurora Media Worldwide is partnering with the RCCO World eX Championship to create the #RacingForTheClimate broadcast show.
Aurora has experience with sustainability-led competitions through its work with Formula E and Extreme E, and will produce the programme for OTT and broadcast channels worldwide – including RCCO E-Sport AG partner motorsport.tv.
There are currently 107 million potential viewers globally, with further broadcast contracts to be agreed. It has a media equivalence of €22.5 million (£19.47m), and is distributed by EMPA GmbH.
The first episode will air 11 March at 20.00 CET, and will show action from the first race of the season, the Silverstone eX Prix of Great Britain. It will be presented by Nicki Shields, who also works with Formula E, and created in a virtual studio – pictured above.
“We’re thrilled to be involved in the production of #RacingForThe Climate and the RCCO World eX Championship,” said James Hopkins, director of commercial development at Aurora Media Worldwide.
“These shows will combine quality esports racing competition with sustainability-led features, entertainment and fan interaction. That’s a great mix and one which appeals to us as a sports producer.
“We’re looking forward to helping RCCO E-Sport AG grow awareness of the fight against climate change with Aurora being an integrated partner in these initiatives.”
CEO and founding partner of RCCO E-Sport AG, Thomas Voigt, added: “We want to create the most entertaining and technically advanced broadcast show in esports racing and Aurora will help us to achieve this.”
