The series will be broadcast in advance of the second season of SailGP next year.
SailGP is releasing a new doc series, SailGP: Racing on the Edge, ahead of its second season, which launches April 2021 in San Francisco.
SailGP: Racing on the Edge interviews the league’s creators, athletes and designers, to enable fans to find out more about the global championship.
The four-part series will be broadcast next year, along with a series of short-form videos that will be released every two weeks on SailGP’s digital channels, beginning on 1 October.
Each episode of SailGP: Racing on the Edge will have a separate theme.
The first is the athletes, episodes two and three will focus on the cutting-edge technology and innovation of the F50 race boats, while the final episode, which will air ahead of the season opener in 2021, focuses on the future of the league.
The series is being produced by Engage Digital Partners, and the distribution rights are being managed by IMG.
A number of international broadcasters have already committed to running the docuseries, including TV3 (Spain), Fox Sports (Australia), Claro (Latin America) and Super Sport (Sub-Saharan Africa).
