The series goes live at the end of September.
Amazon Prime Video is releasing a five-part docuseries about two-time F1 world champion Fernando Alonso, who is expecting to return to Formula One next season.
The docuseries, Fernando, centres on the past year as Alonso took part in the Indianapolis 500, Le Mans 24 hours and his first outing at Dakar Rally. It includes interviews with his manager Luis García Abad, his sister Lorena Alonso, his partner Linda Morselli and his colleague Carlos Sainz.
The series was produced by The Mediapro Studio. It will begin on 25 September.
Alonso said: “Fernando has been one more challenge in my career, a commitment with myself and with the public to show the work, the sacrifice and the high requirement that implies competition at the first worldwide level, as none of this never transcends beyond the circuits. Only two companies with the experience of The Mediapro Studio and Amazon Prime Video could make it possible with a powerful storytelling and global reach.”
Ricardo Cabornero, head of Prime Video content, Spain, adds: “Fernando Alonso is an incredibly talented sportsman that continues to raise the bar in the auto race industry and is currently living one of the most important moments of his career.”
Laura Fdez. Espeso, corporate and television director, The Mediapro Studio, said: “We have gone one step further in the sports documentary genre on television to offer the most truthful, close and authentic portrait that has been done to date on Fernando Alonso.”
