Vaughan has been brought in to build on the company’s cricket coverage.
Whisper has added ex-cricketer and cricket broadcaster Michael Vaughan to its advisory board.
Vaughan will focus on Whisper’s growing cricket portfolio and other broadcast and branded projects, with a focus on new business.
The former England cricket great retired in 2009 and has since become a respected cricket broadcaster across BBC Sport, Test Match Special, Channel 5, Sky, BT Sport and Fox Sports. He also has his own BBC 5 Live radio show; has his own column in The Daily Telegraph; and has written three books.
Whisper CEO Sunil Patel said: “It’s fantastic to welcome Michael to the advisory board. He is extremely well connected in sport and business and brings a wealth of valuable cricket, broadcast and business experience. His appointment will be extremely beneficial to our stakeholders and the whole team.”
Vaughan added: “Whisper has made waves in sports broadcasting and gained an enviable reputation within the industry. There’s a real creative stamp on all their content and a strong team ethos, which I’m excited to be part of. I hope I can help build opportunities in the cricket world and beyond as we collectively look to define the next chapter of Whisper’s growth.”
Whisper currently produces international cricket, and says it will be “announcing new cricket contracts shortly.”
