The Scottish broadcaster is the first free-to-air channel to show live sports since lockdown.
Scottish free-to-air channel BBC Alba is to air live coverage of German women’s Bundesliga. It becomes the first UK free-to-air broadcaster to show live sport since lockdown. Its exclusive live coverage of the games will start this Saturday (30 May).
BBC Alba has a history of championing women’s sport, previously having covered the FIFA Women’s World Cup, UEFA Women’s Champions League, the Scottish national team’s UEFA Women’s Euro qualifiers as well as being the broadcast partner for coverage of the Scottish Women’s Football’s domestic league, the SWPL.
BBC Alba’s executive on sport, Iseabail Mactaggart, said: “We’re delighted to bring coverage of one of the strongest women’s leagues in Europe to BBC Alba audiences.
