They have already deployed joint installations to cover WWE
Real time 3D graphics and virtual studios company Brainstorm is to collaborate with Spidercam to further develop augmented reality technology for sport and other events in large spaces.
Cable camera and robotics manufacturer Spidercam has already worked with Brainstorm to cover the WWE season, including the Royal Rumble.
InfinitySet, Brainstorm’s virtual set and augmented reality system, uses the additional camera angles made available in addition to tracking data from the Spidercam system. This is then enhanced by the AR to create the experience for viewers.
Brainstorm and Spidercam have already put together installations at events such as the WWE season – including the Royal Rumble. The rendering capabilities of the InfinitySet system, including Combined Render Engine with Unreal Engine, real-time ray tracing or PBR materials, allowed them to give realistic results for users.
CEO of Spidercam, Jan Peters, said of the partnership: “The camera angles and flies Spidercam provide can also be enhanced with the real-time 3D augmented reality graphics by InfinitySet, providing an enhanced storytelling to impress an increasingly demanding audience.”
Miguel Churruco, marketing and communications director of Brainstorm, said: “The way Spidercam track big spaces allows for our augmented reality elements to stand out thanks to the wide camera movements they can provide.”
