It will become available on DAZN’s global platform this month
DAZN has unveiled new original documentary, Club Ibiza: The Sessions, for its global platform.
Produced by DAZN Originals in association with Cielo Azul, the programme follows the fortunes of UD Ibiza, a football team in the third tier of the Spanish football pyramid.
The five-part series features interviews with club president Amadeo Salvo, Italian football superstar Marco Borriello and Ibiza-born international DJs Anna Tur and Manu Gonzalez, among others, as well as behind the scenes access and the famous island of Ibiza.
The series’ exclusive title track was produced by dance pioneer and world-famous DJ Carl Cox and features new music by Anna Tur and Manu Gonzalez
The documentary follows Salveo and his brothers David and Lalo as they aim to take the club to La Liga, having only been founded in 2015. Their historic Copa del Rey match with Barcelona is included.
It launched in Austria, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Japan and Switzerland on 25 December, Italy on 27 December, and Spain on 28 December. It is available on DAZN’s Global platform this month.
Grant Best, DAZN’s SVP original programming, said: “What Amadeo Salvo has set out to do with UD Ibiza would seem impossible to anyone without a love of the sport, but that’s what makes the story so compelling. It has been a privilege to come along on the journey and bring life to this series through the incredible music of Carl Cox, Anna Tur and Manu Gonzalez.”
Club Ibiza: The Sessions is produced and executive produced by Grant Best (‘The Making Of’, ‘Rio Ferdinand: Being Mum and Dad’ and ‘One Night’), Tom Markham and Rob Fulham (Kaiser! The Greatest Footballer Never to Play Football & Calcio Storico: The Blood of Florence), and co-directed by John Alex Dennis (‘8 Days with Hopper’) and Grant Best.
