The show centres on team news and news from LNER Stadium; highlights from the club’s recent games; the pre-match press conference from Lincoln City manager Michael Appleton; and pre-match build-up and live interviews with fans.

It streams live prior to matches, and is one-hour long for matches on a weekend, and 30-minutes for midweek fixtures. The matches are available through iFollow.

Matchday Live is streamed using Stream Yard. The first show averaged around 1,000 live viewers across all three channels.

A one-off special is being broadcast live from the stadium before Lincoln City vs Liverpool match in the EFL Cup this Thursday (24 September).

Lincoln City head of media, Terry Hibberd told Broadcast Sport: “While supporters aren’t currently allowed to come to games, we wanted to think of ways in which we can still take them to the games with us. As a club we always look for innovative ways to enhance the matchday experience, and while that looks and feels a little different right now, we had to do as much as we could to keep our fans informed, connected and hopefully entertained.”

Lincoln City CEO, Liam Scully added: “Matchday Live has been well received and that’s testament to the team who have worked so hard over the past month or so to bring it to life. We have a group of people involved who share the club’s vision and passion and their commitment to deliver a quality programme for the fans has translated into what people now see ahead of each matchday at LNER Stadium or on the road.”
