The OTT service has picked up exclusive media rights to the football league.

Belgian’s Pro League has reached an agreement with Eleven Sports on a media contract for the coming five years.

Under the agreement, Eleven Sports will show all Pro League football competitions – 1A, 1B, Women Super League, the Cup league, the Super Cup, and the E-Pro League – for the next five seasons (2020-2025).

This follows the Pro League Board of Directors approving, on 12 June, a decision made during a general meeting of the Pro League on 12 February to grant media rights exclusively to Eleven Sports.

Guillaume Collard, managing director Eleven Sports in Belgium and Luxembourg and group head of acquisitions (pictured, above left), said: “Concluding an agreement of this scale takes time. I would like to thank Pierre François and Leander Monbaliu of the Pro League, as well as the 24 clubs, for their confidence. This is a new step for Belgian football. We are excited to get started on the 7 August.”

Pierre François, CEO Pro League (pictured, above right), added: “I am delighted about the signing of the agreement but also about the relationship Eleven Sports and the Pro League have built during the negotiations. Belgian football is at the beginning of five great years.”
