The streamer wins four-year deal to extend its coverage of the German football league.
DAZN is to triple its Bundesliga coverage in Germany, Austria and Switzerland from 2021, after picking up rights to show every Friday and Sunday Bundesliga football match.
The streaming service will broadcast 106 matches per season in a four-year rights deal, from 2021-2025, in what it describes as “the largest package of major domestic football rights ever awarded to a streaming service in Europe.”
As part of the agreement, DAZN will show live matches followed by highlights of each live game it streams.
Simon Denyer, DAZN Group CEO, said: “This is a watershed moment in the growth and maturity of sport streaming services and the logical next step as we continue to invest in our most mature market and the future of sport. The partnership with the DFL (Deutsche Fußball Liga) is transformational and underlines our long-term commitment to supporting our partners while bringing the best possible sport to fans in an affordable, accessible and flexible way.”
