Tennis doc to appear on Amazon Prime Video from 13 July.
Amazon Prime Video has secured the exclusive rights to premier Kaleidoscope’s tennis documentary Unraveling Athena in selected European countries including the UK on Monday 13 July.
The film, directed by Francis Amat, and named after the Greek goddess of tactics and skill, wisdom and strategy, follows the rise of the world’s greatest women’s tennis players.
Unraveling Athena includes archive clips and in-depth interviews with female tennis stars including Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova and Billie Jean King revealing insights into their experiences, challenges and achievements.
Kaleidoscope Film Distribution agreed the sale of the doc to Amazon Prime Video for UK, Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands.
Unravelling Athena took four years to make, and features contributions from 20+ number one ranked tennis players.
The film adds to Amazon Prime Video’s line-up of sports docu-series, including Andy Murray: Resurfacing, All or Nothing: Manchester City and upcoming Tottenham Hotspur, Take Us Home: Leeds United, and Steven Gerrard’s Make Us Dream.
