The competitions provide an opportunity for fans to take part against BT Sport presenters and sports stars.
BT Sport has launched a series of ‘pop up’ live quiz shows around its sports properties, including football, boxing, rugby, WWE and UFC.
One of these – an interactive live quiz called The Beautiful Quiz – sees BT Sport presenter James Richardson joined by Robin Van Persie, Peter Crouch and Chris Sutton and Stats Perform’s Duncan Alexander (aka Opta Joe – you can listen to Broadcast Sport’s podcast with Duncan below).
Guests play along and compete against the BT Sport experts and audience at home in six rounds of multiple-choice and free-type questions.
The quizzes are being produced by BT Sport in collaboration with:
• Monterosa: deliver the live play-along quiz game, synchronised to broadcast, enabling consistent gameplay, points scoring and live leaderboards to the entire audience
• Phenix: delivers a synchronised OTT stream in real time to all play-along devices regardless of location, device or connection.
• Stats Perform: providing the questions via the @Optajoe team, as well as the data, stats and key historical insights.
• Sunset+Vine: leading the technical production via their remote production gallery with inter-producer and operator connectivity hosted in Microsoft’s Azure Cloud.
Jamie Hindhaugh, chief operating officer, BT Sport, said: “The Beautiful Quiz is the right programme at the right time, enabling all sports fans to come together and test their football knowledge and compete against the likes of Peter Crouch and Chris Sutton. The show is just the latest in our team’s stream of highly innovative work during the pandemic to entertain and serve our viewers.”
