Broadcaster unveils extensive schedule of Test and One Day International cricket highlights of matches from the archives, kicking off this month with vintage England v West Indies clashes.

BBC 2 is re-running highlights from every Test and One Day International cricket match, starting in July. It’s also showing highlights from England v West Indies classic games every weekend in June, starting with their clash at Lord’s in 1984.

The archive coverage will be fronted by BBC’s new lead cricket presenter, 2009 Cricket World Cup winner Isa Guha, alongside Michael Vaughan.

Alastair Cook and Carlos Braithwaite will provide expert analysis of the historic events, and Alison Mitchell and Phil Tufnell will provide commentary for the highlights.

As well as the re-runs, the BBC will screen a documentary called One Day on 12 July, looking back at last year’s legendary England World Cup win.

Without a home Test win against the West Indies for more than two decades England needed a hero – especially on a pitch that suited their opponent’s punishing pace attack. Enter Graham Gooch, with one of the greatest innings in cricket history.
Old Trafford 95 – 20 June, 6-7pm
With Brian Lara in full flow, only an extraordinary team performance could steal the headlines from the Trinidadian legend and propel England to an unlikely win.
Lord’s 2000 – 27 June, 6-7pm
A classic, topsy-turvy match with Courtney Walsh and Curtly Ambrose at their very best, but England would prevail thanks to their own virtuoso bowling performance, spearheaded by Andy Caddick, to secure their first series win against the West Indies since 1969.

BBC 2’s Test and One Day highlights show will begin on 8 July at 7pm, with coverage of the first Test match between England and the West Indies at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton.

As well as the cricket re-runs on BBC 2, the BBC Sport website will have video clips of “all the big moments as they happen, along with live text commentary, audio streams and audience interaction for all of England’s summer internationals.”

BBC director of sport, Barbara Slater said: “We are delighted to welcome back Test match cricket highlights to BBC TV. Along with broadcasting some of the best classic matches from over the decades, the coverage will provide the perfect mix for cricket fans this summer.”
