The concert will be available through La Liga social and OTT platforms
La Liga, Universal Music, Banco Santander, and others have come together to create LaLigaSantander Fest, a charity music festival this weekend.
With fans stuck at home during coronavirus pandemic lockdown measures, and football postponed indefinitely, the organisations have decided to run the event to raise money for products needed to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
The donations will be spent according to the Spanish government’s health priorities in coordination with the High Sports Council (CSD).
20 artists will be involved with the show, including Alejandro Sanz, David Bisbal, Aitana, Sebastián Yatra and Antonio Orozco. More acts will be announced through the week on social media. In addition, a player from each La Liga side will be appearing. All participants will be taking part from home.
Coverage of the event will be available on the LaLigaSportsTV OTT platform, La Liga social channels, and the Movistar channel. The signal will also be available to broadcasters worldwide.
The Santander foundation will handle donations, with channels to do so through announced shortly.
Director of business, marketing, and international development at La Liga, Óscar Mayo, said: “LaLiga wants to support everyone who is in quarantine and at the same time, raise money to buy medical supplies to deal with COVID-19.”
“We are very happy with the response we have received from all fronts; footballers, clubs, artists and sponsors have all joined together for this initiative. I am convinced that together we are going to create something very memorable.”
