They also have non-exclusive rights to show it in Switzerland
DAZN has secured the rights to show the heavyweight title bout between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, and Italy.
They will be streaming it exclusively in Germany, Austria, Spain, and Italy, and non-exclusively in Switzerland. Boxing fans will be able to see the pair go head to head after their dramatic tie in 2018, with Wilder defending the WBC heavyweight title against Fury.
The fight is going ahead at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on 22 February, with the boxers expected to walk out between 8-9pm local time on the night. This will be at 4-5am on Sunday morning for UK viewers.
DAZN has been growing as a boxing brand, streaming Anthony Joshua’s shock defeat to Andy Ruiz jr., and Canelo Alvarez’s defeat of Sergey Kovalev.
Chief commercial officer of DAZN Group, Jacopo Tonoli, said: “We are thrilled to bring this heavyweight clash to five of our markets. Both Wilder and Fury are exceptionally entertaining fighters and will put on a show to remember for our subscribers in Las Vegas on 22 February.”
