The documentary will show behind-the-scenes footage from the Australia test side
Amazon Prime Video has released a new trailer for The Test: A New Era For Australia’s Team, ahead of its March release.
The documentary will follow the Australia national cricket team from the aftermath of the ball-tampering scandal in South Africa in 2018, to their retention of the Ashes on English soil in September 2019.
Following the team on this journey, The Test showcases behind-the-scenes access to the side. Prime members will get to experience a tumultuous time for the men in the baggy greens, with it starting as Justin Langer is appointed head coach in May 2018, going through their first ever home test series defeat to India, and then ending with a better-than-expected World Cup campaign and their first retention of the Ashes in England for 18 years.
The Test will be released on 12 March on Prime Video. It is produced by CA Films in partnership with Australian production company Whooshka Media, and directed by Adrian Brown.
This follows in the footsteps of Amazon Prime Video’s All or Nothing: Manchester City, which followed Pep Guardiola’s side in their title-winning 2017/18 season. It is also creating a documentary on fellow Premier League team Tottenham Hotspur, going behind the scenes of the team’s current turbulent campaign.
