The broadcaster reports a significant rise in viewing figures during the pandemic.
Eurosport has reported major growth in viewing figures for its cycling coverage of this year’s Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and La Vuelta.
Number of viewers was up 48% for its live coverage of the Tour de France, compared to last year, while viewing figures for Giro d’Italia almost doubled with a 82% increase, and live viewership for La Vuelta increased even more, by 95% year-on-year.
Eurosport also saw a 25% increase in total listens to its podcast, The Bradley Wiggins Show, compared to 2019.
The content Discovery put out on free-to-air and D2C platforms also performed well, with Giro d’Italia highlights on Quest up 44% and a 62% increase in VOD viewing on Discovery’s on-demand platform, dplay.
